What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)?
As your needs change over time, a continuing care retirement community gives you the confidence of knowing long-term care is available on site at predictable costs. We offer a range of levels of living for financial security and peace of mind.

Senior living at Covenant Living at the Samarkand means living independently while having on-site access to a comprehensive menu of health care services and long-term care. We meet the needs of our residents by providing the following levels of living:
- Residential Living
- Assisted Living
- Assisted Living with Memory Support
- Rehabilitation
- Skilled Nursing
What are the guidelines for Assisted Living?
Residents must need assistance with at least two activities of daily living and have a physician’s order.

The resident’s family and the wellness clinic nurse.
CloseWhat are the guidelines for Skilled Nursing?
The resident must need 24-hour skilled nursing care and have a doctor’s order.
CloseWho is primarily responsible for health care and medical services at Covenant Living at the Samarkand?
The Health Care Administrator.
CloseHow does my Primary Care Physician fit into my health care program at Covenant Living at the Samarkand?
It is up to individual physicians to decide whether they will continue to treat patients who become health care residents of Covenant Living at the Samarkand.
CloseIs there a pharmacy at Covenant Living at the Samarkand?
We do not have a pharmacy on campus, but delivery service is available.
CloseHow does medical insurance coverage work at Covenant Living at the Samarkand?
It varies depending on level of living. It is best to consult with Covenant Living at the Samarkand staff about your policy and how it works on our campus.
CloseDoes The Samarkand offer any type of exercise or wellness classes?
The new LifeCenter has a beautiful state-of-the-art Fitness Studio with gorgeous views of the Santa Ynez Mountains to enjoy as you work out. In addition to all the wellness and exercise classes we offer, our Fitness Director will help you design a program to meet your needs.
CloseDoes Covenant Living at the Samarkand have any other specific indoor recreation rooms?
Yes, we offer several rooms for meetings, gatherings and events, as well as the Library and outdoor space on our lovely campus that residents enjoy for a wide variety of activities. We also have an outdoor swimming pool that is heated year around plus a classroom, an auditorium, an arts and crafts room, and various resident lounges.
CloseKeep in mind, you do not have to be a current resident of our retirement community to benefit from our Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing or short-term Rehabilitation services. In our short-term rehabilitation program, we accept Medicare and are in-network providers for a number of managed care and Medicare Advantage programs.
